Introduction
We built this waterproof table heater for one clear reason: to give you fast, targeted heat in damp spots—without making you nervous about electricity. This isn’t your typical space heater. It’s a shortwave infrared lamp, designed to radiate warmth right where you need it. And it does more than warm things up—it helps keep mold from getting comfortable by changing the surface conditions around it.
The heart of it
Inside is a shortwave infrared lamp that runs hot and focused. That’s intentional. It’s built to quickly raise the temperature of walls, floors, and fixtures—the places where condensation loves to collect. And the IP55 waterproof rating? That’s the baseline. It means the lamp is sealed against water jets and dust. So in a bathroom, it stays reliable when the room is full of steam or when you’re hosing things down.
Materials and design—kept practical
We chose a quartz envelope because it handles rapid on-off cycles without cracking under thermal shock, and it transmits shortwave infrared cleanly. The lamp’s size and shape are matched to the housing so the heat lands where you want it. The connector is typically an R7s base—simple, sturdy, and standard. That means installation is straightforward, replacements are quick, and you get a solid mechanical hold that can take heat and vibration without getting fussy.
Where it shines—and what to keep in mind
In bathrooms, infrared dries surfaces faster than heating the air alone. That means moisture doesn’t linger on tiles and grout as long, and that directly cuts into the conditions mold needs to grow. It also plays nice with dehumidifiers by warming cold surfaces, which helps reduce the temperature gap that drives condensation. Now, there is one trade-off: that high heat density that dries so quickly also needs proper thermal management. You’ll want enough airflow and heat sinking so the electronics stay cool enough to do their job. When it’s set up right, this IP55 infrared table heater becomes a compact, install-ready way to keep your bathroom feeling drier—and a lot healthier.
