Temperature repeatability is the lever that tightens CD control and cuts rework. With tight thermal uniformity across the wafer and across tools, you get tighter line-width distributions and less chasing around on exposure dose. Fast thermal response shortens bake steps without overshoot, so throughput improves and the films stay protected. Energy use drops, too, because the emitters heat the target, not the whole chamber. Reliability is straightforward: field units run 5,000+ hours with under 5% output drop, and maintenance is mostly planned lamp replacement windows.
The practical details you’ll want to plan for
Installation is tool-specific. Expect a mechanical envelope review for your chamber and a connector plan that matches your machine interface. The system performs best when the reflector geometry and sensor placement stay matched as a set. Swapping components individually will degrade uniformity. For the highest repeatability, pair the heater with a dedicated controller and keep a documented calibration schedule tied to your SPC lot checks.
