Why Quartz Works
We use fused silica that’s incredibly pure. The big win here is that it doesn’t “breathe” or release gases when things get hot. The quartz envelope completely locks in the tungsten filament. Nothing gets out. No metal oxide particles, no surprises. And here is the best part: these lamps use radiation, not convection. You aren’t blowing air around your workpiece, which means those annoying particulates stay exactly where they belong—on the ground and away from your gear.
The Power and the Catch
These lamps are packed with watt density. We did this so your equipment doesn’t have to take up half the room. When you crank the voltage, the heat is instant. It makes your PID control feel snappy and precise. You can hit your target temps in seconds. It’s fast. Really fast. But there’s a catch. All that heat puts a ton of stress on the quartz tube. If your mounting brackets are slightly off or you’re squeezing the tube too hard, it’ll crack. Simple as that. Just make sure your housing gives the material room to breathe and expand.
Getting Them Into Your Fab
We designed these to be drop-in replacements. No headaches. We use standard connectors so you can just wire them up. You won’t have to mess around with custom soldering, which means you don’t have to worry about lead or flux contaminating your space. The quartz surface is polished smooth, too. This stops “hot spots” from popping up, so your 300mm wafer heats up evenly across the whole surface. One last tip: keep an eye on your power supply. If you get voltage spikes, you’ll fry the filament way sooner than you should. Keep it steady, and these things will last.
