It’s a cycle that gets old fast. That’s why we’ve shifted over to IP55-rated infrared heaters. They’re basically built for the chaos of a wet room.
What’s the deal with “IP55”?
If you aren’t a tech geek, the numbers don’t matter much. What actually matters is that the unit is sealed tight. It keeps out dust and handles splashes or water jets from any angle without breaking a sweat. We use sealed gaskets and casings that actually fight off moisture. This keeps the internal parts from corroding—which is exactly where those cheap, off-the-shelf heaters usually give up the ghost.
The magic of Infrared
Here is the big difference: standard lamps try to warm up the air in the room. That takes forever. Infrared is different. It sends heat directly to you. A couple of things to keep in mind
Now, you can’t just plug these into a random extension cord and call it a day. These units pull a decent amount of power to get that instant heat, so you’ll need a dedicated circuit. Make sure your breakers are up to the task before you start wiring. Also, a heads-up on the heat. While the outer shell is protected from water, the emitter face getsseriously hot. If you touch it, you’re going to get burned. Placement is everything here. Mount them high enough so nobody can accidentally reach them, but not so high that the heat disappears before it reaches you. Find that sweet spot, and you’re golden.
